Two Chinese Men Were Arrested For Illegal Mining At Kwakukrom – Nzama East

Four notorious Chinese Galamseyers have been arrested in Kwakukurom in the Nzema East Municipality, one cries bitterly as he saw himself being handcuffed and sent to the police

Led by the Nzema East Municipal Security Council, Frank Okpennyen, the municipal chief executive acting on intelligence, on the 6th of July 2021 between the hours of 12:00 and 18:00 storm the forest to arrest the Galamseyers comprising of two Chinese nationals and two Ghanaians at a newly developed Galamsey site at Kwakukurom in the Ezema East Municipality

The names of the suspects were found to be Li Gou Hua, 40 years, Wei Hua Fen, 37 years, Karim Abdullai ,28 years and Gambo Akpanda, 29 years.

Many Galamsey items were seized from the suspects on site were 16 gallons of diesel, one water hose, one changfan motor and fuel pumping motor. Three excavators were seen on the site being used for their activities. Currently, it’s been confiscated and efforts are being made to move them.

The four suspects were handcuffed and handed over to the Regional police command for further investigation and prosecution

Meanwhile, the president of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has given the go ahead to burn any excavators found on the site of illegal mining.
